Why I Modernized the DZULÚM

I modernized The DZULÚM to portray that not all things are what they seem by

Talking about how not all people and creatures are what they seem.

Ways the original DZULÚM and my modernized DZULÚM are the same and different.

In my depiction of the DZULÚM in my narrative, I maintained many details from the original so that it would still be recognizable, but modernizing the tale by making the DZULÚM save the sisters in order to convey the theme that things are not always what they seem.

The similarity's between the original and my modernized version of the DZULÚM. I kept the protecting farmland. I kept the same colors of the DZULÚM. This supports the point that things are not always what they seem by making it in my narrative when Odilia sees the DZULÚM it seems like the DZULÚM is going to chase her but really the DZULÚM saves the sisters.

The differences between the original and my modernized The DZULÚM. If The DZULÚM was aggressive then I made him passive. If The DZULÚM did not protect a big amount of farm land then I made it to where it was a field . This supports the point of things are not what they seem by making The DZULÚM.

In my depiction of the DZULÚM in my narrative, I maintained many details from the original so that  it would still be recognizable,   but modernizing the tale by  making the DZULÚM save the sisters in order to convey the theme that things are not always what they seem. Authors modernize these monsters from the past to make people realize important themes that could be true for everyday life
